The History of Hotel Beaumont

If these walls could talk….

In 1922, Hotel Beaumont opened its doors as the premier hotel in Beaumont, Texas. The vision was inspired by response to the boom after the Spindletop oil discovery. 277 investors from Beaumont believed that a hotel was exactly what Beaumont needed. One-million dollars were spent building this marvelous 250-room hotel. The building hosted two ballrooms, as well as two restaurants, The Black Cat and The Kitten.

The years brought many changes to Hotel Beaumont, including a $7.5 million renovation in 2000 and recent renovation in the summer of 2010 of $500,000. Hotel Beaumont currently serves as an independent and assisted living community and is home to many wonderful senior citizen residents. Hotel Beaumont’s hope is to preserve and the history of Hotel Beaumont while providing the best assisted living to their residents.
